«Mugalimma» von Dina Safina ist eine tatarische feministische Oper über den Kampf von Frauen für die Überwindung patriarchaler religiöser Strukturen.


Alle auf dem Festival eingenommenen Gelder werden an Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen für Ukraine-Hilfsprojekte gespendet.

Dina Safina is a playwright and director, born in 1989. For a long time, theatre and drama were her hobbies, allowing her to escape from her work as a planning engineer. In 2016, she graduated from the Sergei Yakovlev film directing workshop at the Kazan Film School.


Dina is the author of plays that have been included in the long and short lists of Pro/Log, Remarque, Lubimovka, Badenweiler, and "Saturday Theatre" competitions. She is a laureate of the national Golden Mask award and a finalist for the national literary prize in the non-fiction category.


As a director and scriptwriter, Dina has worked in cinema and engaged in clip-making. From 2018 to 2020, she collaborated with Propellers Animation Studios as a director of cartoons for children. In addition, she hosted the "Kinomaniacs" category on Bim Radio (Kazan) from October 2020 to December 2021.


Currently, Dina mainly works in the genre of "Theatre of citizens," collaborating with non-state venues and supervising readings of contemporary drama. She is interested in the topic of Tatar identity.

«Mugalimma» by Dina Safina is a Tatar feminist opera about women struggle to overcome the ways of a patriarchal religious world.


All money raised at the festival will be donated to charities for Ukraine aid projects.
