Ghosts Are My Reality
Das interdisziplinäre Projekt "Ghosts Are My Reality" verbindet Bewegung, Video und Sound, um das Phänomen des Träumens zu erforschen. Es basiert auf Derridas Konzept von Hauntology, ein Wort, bei dem die Priorität von Sein und Präsenz durch die Figur des Geistes ersetzt wird. Diese Figur wird in einer künstlerischen Recherche dem Träumen gegenüber gestellt. Maria Focaraccio, Katharina Scheidtmann und Theresa Maria Forthaus wollen eine imaginäre Landschaft schaffen, die den Körper als Medium nutzt, um das Wesen von Träumen zu erfassen. Konzeptuelles Denken und kausal-logisches Erinnern werden in den Hintergrund gedrängt, emotionale Erfahrungen rücken in den Fokus und verschiedene Ebenen und Realitäten überlagern sich mit mal ironischen, mal absurden, mal intimen Tönen.
Maria Focaraccio (1992*) arbeitet als Tänzerin für Imperfect Dancers Company, Fattoria Vittadini, C&C Company, Tanztheater Erfurt. Als Choreografin kreiert sie: Short Stories-nothing too intimate (2019) und Dia-Fantasie Ritmiche (2020) zusammen mit MariaGiulia Serantoni; HOW TO _ just another Boléro (2021) und all you need is (2022) mit Emanuele Rosa. Letzterer hat den 1. Preis beim Premio Twain_direzioniAltre 2022 in Italien erhalten. Nach ihrem Abschluss in Philosophie an der Universität von Pisa studiert Maria derzeit Tanzwissenschaft an der Freien Universität in Berlin.
Katharina Scheidtmann absolvierte 2013 ihren B.A. an der ArtEZ Academy of Theatre & Dance (NL) und arbeitet seitdem freischaffend als Tänzerin, Choreographin und Tanzpädagogin. Neben dem Erarbeiten eigener choreographischer Arbeiten (u.a. Kama Dance Company), arbeitet sie als Dozentin und Tanzvermittlerin (z.B. Seneca Intensiv und TanzZeit) und entwickelt spartenübergreifende Workshops. Als Tänzerin arbeitete sie u.a. mit und für Roh Collective, C-Company, Toshiki Okada und Danstheater Telder. 2022 war sie als Produktionsleitung und Tutorin in dem Projekt Marler Partitur - In C von Sasha Waltz & Guests involviert. Außerdem studiert sie aktuell im forschungsorientierten Masterprogramm Tanzwissenschaft an der FU Berlin.
Theresa Maria Forthaus (*1996) arbeitet als Künstlerin an der Schnittstelle zwischen visueller und darstellender Kunst. Neben dem Medium der Fotografie basiert ihre künstlerische Arbeit auf experimentellen kollaborativen Videoarbeiten, die Text, Performance und Klangkunst miteinander verbinden. Die Zusammenarbeit mit Kunstschaffenden aus den Bereichen Tanz und Sound sowie eine partizipatorische Kunstpraxis sind für ihre Arbeit besonders wichtig. Im Jahr 2019 schloss sie ihren B.A. an der AKI ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design in Enschede (NL) ab. Während ihres Auslandssemesters an der University of the Arts London (UK) wurden ihre Fotografien veröffentlicht und digital ausgestellt, unter anderem in der Hayward Gallery und später in der Tate Modern in London.

The interdisciplinary project “Ghosts Are My Reality” combines movement, video and sound to explore the phenomenon of dreaming. The work deals with Derrida’s concept of Hauntology, a word in which the priority of being and presence is replaced by the figure of the ghost. Drawing and a parallel between dreams and ghosts, which as ghosts find themselves in a state of “not yet and not anymore”, Maria Focaraccio, Katharina Scheidtmann and Theresa Maria Forthaus aim to create an imaginary landscape, using the body as a vehicle to grasp the nature of dreams. Conceptual thinking and causal-logical remembering get pushed in the background, emotional experiences come into focus and different levels and realities overlap, with tones at times ironic, at times absurde, at times intimate.

Katharina Scheidtmann completed her B.A. at the ArtEZ Academy of Theatre & Dance in 2013 (NL) and since then works as a freelance dancer, choreographer and dance pedagogue. In addition to creating her own choreographic works (e.g. Kama Dance Company), she works as a lecturer and dance facilitator (e.g. Seneca Intensiv and TanzZeit) and develops interdisciplinary workshops. As a dancer, she has worked with and for Roh Collective, C-Company, Toshiki Okada, and Danstheater Telder (selection). In 2022 she was involved as production manager and tutor in the project Marler Partitur - In C by Sasha Waltz & Guests. She is also currently studying in the research-oriented Master's program in Dance Studies at the FU Berlin.
Theresa Maria Forthaus (*1996) works as an artist oscillating between visual and performing arts. In addition to the medium of photography, her artistic work is based on experimental collaborative video works that combine text, performance and sound art. The collaboration with artists from the fields of dance and sound as well as a participatory art practice is especially important to her work. In 2019 she graduated with a B.A. at AKI ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design in Enschede (NL). During her semester abroad at the University of the Arts London (UK), her photographs were published and digitally exhibited, amongst others at the Hayward Gallery and later at the Tate Modern in London.
