Düster, inspirierend, erheiternd oder verletzend? Geschichten sind unendliche Reisen, verborgene Talente oder verdrängte Erinnerungen, die alle darauf warten, erzählt zu werden. Sie ermöglichen es uns, einander klarer zu sehen und den Gedanken freien Lauf zu lassen.
Die Tanzperformance „Short stories“ begrüßt Sie in einer Welt der Kurzgeschichten, in der keine der anderen ähnelt und diese doch durch die Kraft der fantasievollen Wahrheit verknüpft sind.
Folgen Sie einer tänzerischen, turbulenten Reise und entdecken sie die Untiefen des Ozeans, das knackende Gehölz des Waldes, die Farbenpracht der Blätter und die Vergänglichkeit der Zeit.
Esther Cowens ging auf eine Performing Arts Highschool in San Francisco, bevor sie an der University of Arts in Philadelphia ihr Modern Dance-Studium mit den Fächern Modern, Ballett, Jazz, Choreographie, Schauspiel, Klavier und Stimmbildung mit Auszeichnung abschloss. Als Choreographin und Tänzerin arbeitete sie unter anderem in Spanien und Taiwan; sie gehörte zur Eröffnungscast von König der Löwen in Hamburg und war für das europäische Zentrum der Künste Hellerau, Dresden und Dock 11 in Berlin aktiv. Sie nahm zehn Jahre lang Stimmunterricht bei Jonathan Kinsler und unterrichtet derzeit in Berlin an der UdK und bei DANCEWORKS berlin u.a. Graham- und Horton-Technik.

Lena Reyle erhielt ihre Ausbildung als Tanzpädagogin an der Ballettfachschule Ronecker in Stuttgart und studierte die Cunningham Technik am Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in New York. Sie arbeitete als Produktionsassistentin am K3 - Zentrum für Choreographie | Tanzplan Hamburg auf Kampnagel. Als Tänzerin ist sie Teil der Improvisationsgruppe „TheCore+“, mit der sie u.a. auf dem NAH DRAN Festival in Berlin und dem TIN Improvisationsfestival in Düsseldorf auftrat. Seit Oktober 2022 ist sie mit Luisa Winterfeld künstlerische Leitung bei DANCEWORKS berlin.
Luisa Winterfeld absolvierte ihre Ausbildung zur staatlich anerkannten Bühnendarstellerin an der 'Stage School for professional artists‘ in Hamburg. Danach widmete sie sich vermehrt dem zeitgenössischen Tanz und führte ihr Studium an der ‘London Contemporary Dance School` (the Place) weiter. Außerdem studierte sie ‘Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftskommunikation‘ an der Universität der Künste mit Schwerpunkt auf visuellen Medien. 2011 gründete sie das Tanztheater LuLeo - eine Plattform für NachwuchstänzerInnen, die an der Schwelle zum Künstlerberuf stehen. Seit Oktober 2022 ist sie gemeinsam mit Lena Reyle künstlerische Leitung von DANCEWORKS berlin.
Sarah Hardy studierte und sammelte Erfahrungen als Tänzerin und Lehrerin in Australien, bevor sie nach Hongkong zog. Dort wurde Sarah zur Leiterin des Balletts der größten internationalen Tanzschule des Landes ernannt. Ihren ehemaligen SchülerInnen wurden Plätze in vielen Vollzeitprogrammen angeboten, darunter die American Ballet Theatre School, die Royal Ballet School und die Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Nachdem sie Hongkong 2019 verlassen hatte, reiste Sarah zwischen Australien, Hongkong und Spanien hin und her, um als Gastlehrerin und Jurorin bei Wettbewerben zu arbeiten. Seit 2020 unterrichtet sie Ballett und Choreographie bei DANCEWORKS berlin.

Esther Cowens went to a performing arts high school in San Francisco before graduating with honours from the University of Arts in Philadelphia with a degree in modern dance, ballet, jazz, choreography, acting, piano and voice training. As a choreographer and dancer, she has worked in Spain and Taiwan, among other places; she was part of the opening cast of The Lion King in Hamburg and was active for the European Centre for the Arts Hellerau, Dresden and Dock 11 in Berlin. She took voice lessons with Jonathan Kinsler for ten years and currently teaches Graham and Horton technique, among others, at the UdK and DANCEWORKS berlin in Berlin.

Lena Reyle received her training as a dance paedagogue at the Ronecker Ballet School in Stuttgart and studied the Cunningham Technique at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in New York. She worked as a production assistant at K3 - Zentrum für Choreographie | Tanzplan Hamburg at Kampnagel. Luisa Winterfeld completed her education at 'Stage School for professional artists' in Hamburg. Afterwards she devoted herself increasingly to contemporary dance and continued her studies at the 'London Contemporary Dance School' (the Place). She also studied 'Social and Business Communication' at the University of the Arts with a focus on visual media. In 2011 she founded the dance theatre LuLeo - a platform for up-and-coming dancers who are on the threshold of becoming artists. Since October 2022, she has been the artistic director of DANCEWORKS berlin together with Lena Reyle. www.luleo.de
Sarah Hardy studied and gained experience as a dancer and teacher in Australia before moving to Hong Kong. There Sarah was appointed Head of Ballet at the country's largest international dance school.
Her former students have been offered places in many full-time programmes including the American Ballet Theatre School, the Royal Ballet School and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. After leaving Hong Kong in 2019, Sarah travelled back and forth between Australia, Hong Kong and Spain to work as a guest teacher and adjudicator at competitions. She has been teaching ballet and choreography at DANCEWORKS berlin since 2020.
